The New York Yankees have won the 2009 World Series; they also had planned to present every team employee with a championship ring that would have made Deion Sanders blush. Each of the ring was made of 119 diamonds which are in total 3.5 carats, which contained an group of symbols casted into the gold.
The best feature of the ring was the interlocking of the "NY" logo made in diamonds. Rings one side read, "World Champions" over a description of Yankee Stadium. The other side highlighted the familiar top-hat logo which was set between the recipient's last name and the word "Tradition."
Since they have moved to San Francisco, the joyous but challenging task of designing a championship ring was given to The Yankees set the bar high for the Giants.
Staci Slaughter, the Giants' senior vice president for communications, told to his team officials that the best part is to visit the companies that forge rings and cannot yet say what theirs will look like. They are yet to make lot of decisions which include:
-- To check which symbols and words to stamp into the precious metal they choose, and to make the rings unique to San Francisco and the Giants.
-- Also let us know how many and what types of diamonds and stones to use and how much to spend. These rings run from $5,000 to $10,000 each, which is quite a spread.
-- Also let them know how many models they want to create. Many teams create smaller rings for lower-level staffers which are then presented to the players and front-office honchos, the so-called "A"
engagement rings.
