Newport Beach police are searching the thief who had stolen about $700,000 in women's jewelry from a home in the gated community.
According to Sgt. Steve Burdette, on Tuesday, a woman in her 40s found that her
diamond necklaces, diamond bracelets and earrings had been removed from her closet.
Burdette said that she had left town for the holidays on Dec. 22 and returned several weeks ago, also she did not check her closet until Tuesday. The woman lives in the 100 block of Old Course Drive, in the One Ford Road neighborhood.
She found that three diamond-encrusted necklaces, a gold bracelet set with diamonds, platinum drop earrings with diamonds, and a platinum bracelet with diamonds were missing.
The two necklaces have emerald-cut diamonds and the police report valued the jewelry at $697,000.
It is believed that the jewelry is insured, and detectives are waiting to get images of the diamond jewelry and other details, such as descriptions of their diamond laser etchings.
Burdette also told that one ford road security will provide detectives with the video of vehicles which come and go into the community. Such thefts were not reported recently.
