In the year 1477, Archduke Maximilian of Austria presented Mary of Burgundy a beautiful diamond ring, and since then came into existence the fashion of presenting your bride to be, a beautiful diamond wedding ring on the wedding day.
It was the Egyptians who started the trend of placing the wedding ring on the third finger of the left hand, because the third finger on the left hand was called the vein of love, since it was the only finger that had its tip directly connected to the heart by a vein. This led to the launch of many other jewelry items like diamond studs.
